My students taught me this game the other day in group class. I don’t know if they came up with the idea on their own or had previously done it with another teacher.
The idea of the game was to ensure that they knew the piece so well that no distraction could cause them to make a mistake. This is great pre-concert preparation.
While we were playing, the parents had to walk around and try to distract the students and cause them to make a mistake. The only rule was that the parents were not allowed to touch the students or make a ridiculous amount of noise. Instead they coughed, made funny faces, did silly dances, allowed their cell phones to ring, pretended to cry like babies, threw books down on the floor, etc. If more than two students got distracted and made mistakes, the parents won. If one or no students got distracted, we won.
Admittedly, this game is only borderline educational, but it is definitely tons of fun and the students enjoyed it a lot.
This game could also work in a non-group class setting.
