Using the most natural instrument - level All

Thanks to Common sense

To improve intonation, it is alway recommendable toask the student to imagine each sound (we do that every instant while playing) and then to sing it. Sometimes We work on the basic distance between the notes (wether is a half step, or a whole, a third, etc.) because it is not clear. Once it has been solved, then the students begin to sing freely and their intonation improves a lot.

To principally maintain intonation and also improve, if needs be, I reckon it be useful to always use the reference notes (also), eg. if playing 1st string b,c,c#,d, we will begin by placing 1st finger on 1st position and we may compare intonation of b with 2nd string b, therefore we will proceed and we may also compare intonation of d 4th finger 1st string with harmonic on 2nd string or simply 2nd string d ... Another useful exercise is to repeat putting a lot of care and listening whilst repeating the sequence as follows on the 4 strings, i.e. Fingering: 1234,1424,1434; this may be repeated starting on half position to 4th positon...and also applicable to thumb...I find it of extreme benefit to warm my fingers each time and principally to maintain good intonation.
