Cello Teacher's Friend

For each of my students in my studio at IU, I insist that he or she asks a fellow student who is a composition major to write a 3-5 minute piece for solo cello, or cello & piano. We work together throughout the semester, pointing out the expressive & technical possiblities of the cello, & strive to make this a collaborative effort, culminating in a performance (WORLD PREMIERE!!) of each work. It is amazing the growth that each student experiences through this!
